Via Cancún (CUN)

Cancún has the most direct flights from Europe — Edelweiss from Zurich, Condor and Discover from Frankfurt, Air France from Paris. From there it's a domestic hop to Guadalajara (about 3h), or start with a few days at the beach.

Most nonstops from Europe · combine with a beach stay

Via Mexico City (MEX)

Lufthansa, Aeroméxico, Air France, KLM and Iberia fly daily from Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam and Madrid to Mexico City, with short onward hops to Guadalajara (about 1h 20).

Via Madrid

Usually the quickest way from Europe — Aeroméxico and Iberia offer fast one-stop itineraries, and Aeroméxico flies Madrid → Guadalajara direct on several days a week.

Fastest · check Aeroméxico for nonstops

Via the US

American, United and Delta connect through Dallas, Houston or Atlanta with many daily flights into Guadalajara. Remember: transiting the US requires an ESTA.

Visas & transit

Most European passports don't need a visa for Mexico — but if you connect through the United States you'll need an ESTA (apply online before flying). Some nationalities do need a visa for Mexico and/or a US transit visa: please check with the authorities in your own country well in advance.

Travel with us — Mikel's family plan

Mikel's family lands in Cancún on April 5 or 6 at the latest, and arrives in Guadalajara by Friday, April 9 at the latest — the day before the wedding. On Monday we'll all do a day trip to Tequila, and on Tuesday or Wednesday the family flies back to Cancún to explore from there. Join for any part of it!

April is high season — book by January if you can. Arrive Thursday or Friday; the airport sits on the road to the lake.
